Are you on a first name basis with your Property Manager?

July 21, 2012 - PRLog -- How well do you know the person overseeing your asset?  Regardless if it is an HOA, Rental Unit, Apartment or other type of property, you can tell a lot by the relationship with the Property Manager.

If you are one of the people who knows their property manager by first name, that could be both good and bad.  It is good in a sense because that hopefully means there has not been turnover in the company you have been dealing with.

Unfortunately, turnover is a huge problem when dealing with Property Management.  Multiple factors play into why there is so much turnover at times, but if you are lucky enough to keep the same Property Manager year after year, you are not having to retrain, or get stuck with someone who is supposed to be running your property saying “so tell me what’s been going on with this property the last few years”.

On the other hand, if you know your Property Manager by first name, perhaps it is because you have had to treat them like a child, holding their hand, constantly staying on top of them to do the job that you hired them for.
