July 20, 2012 - PRLog -- MONTE CARLO, MONACO, (PRESS RELEASE) -- May 15, 2012 -- North 40 Productions proudly announces the Theatrical World Premiere of the new true crime/horror feature film, HOUSE ON THE HILL, at the 7th annual Monaco Charity Film Festival (MCFF) in Monte Carlo, Monaco, which was held May 5 - 11, 2012. HOUSE ON THE HILL was screened on "Fright Night," Friday, May 11, to a packed house.

HOUSE ON THE HILL chronicles the outrageous 1980s murder spree of serial killers Leonard Lake and Charles Ng, who would target, kidnap, rob and kill people -- and even whole families. Their motto was “No kill, no thrill” as they would take their doomed victims to a remote mountaintop compound where no one came back. In addition, as Lake states in HOUSE ON THE HILL (where this real life killer is featured in several sequences), they also built a "special kind of room" to imprison females as sex slaves prior to killing them.

Based on criminal court records, HOUSE ON THE HILL remained faithful to the actual events in the case, according to Writer-Director Jeffrey Frentzen, who filmed the movie on location in the California hills. "Although Lake committed suicide shortly after his capture by police in 1985, Lake's accomplice Charles Ng was eventually brought to justice," Frentzen explained. "The movie shows you the interior of what these men were really like, and their innocent victims."

HOUSE ON THE HILL stars Naidra Dawn Thomson as Sonia, who teams up with investigator Paul Kale (Kevin McCloskey) to help him locate a woman (Shannon Leade) who disappeared into Lake's compound. Sonia recounts the horrors of the house, where Lake (Stephen A.F.Day) and Ng (Sam Leung) would force her to videotape the killings. "We did not hold back in showing these coldhearted men and how they would find likely victims -- people who could be extorted easily and then disposed of in a backyard graveyard. It was a psycho work ethic taken to murderous extremes," said Frentzen.

The movie, which was produced by Jeffrey Frentzen and Shannon Leade, was made by California-based film company North 40 Productions. It also features Laura Leigh, Crystal Nelson and Elissa Bree. This film has not been rated and has a run time of 83 minutes.

The MCFF is an annual event benefiting poor children from all over the world. This year's film festival is raising much needed funds in support of the Virlanie Children's Foundation in the Philippines. MCFF also helps filmmakers from all walks of life to find financing and distribution for their films. No fewer than twelve movies are shown each day during the week at the Princess Grace Theatre or the Gildo Pastor Center, with the best shorts and features singled out for special awards by an international jury.
