Worsley, a carpenter with over 17 years’ experience, is planning to build a thriving business around Richmond, Twickenham and the surrounding areas.
Under the tagline ‘one call property care’, aspect.co.uk manages all maintenance issues for domestic properties and commercial premises such as bars, restaurants, offices and business parks. The company has grown in the south-east and is now keen to expand by rolling out a franchise operation throughout the UK.
As a franchisee, Graeme will remain independent, but operate under the www.aspect.co.uk brand and be provided with systems and management support. He will receive guidance and support from the management team, which has built the business and understands the key drivers for success.
“aspect.co.uk is a proven business model and I was ready to take the leap of faith,” said Graeme. “I have been very impressed with the way the company is run and I am keen to emulate the success across the areas we will be expanding into.”
Graeme currently works on his own but is confident that within a year he will be able to expand and also offer more than just carpentry. A year ago, he returned from a stint working in Australia and, with one child and another due in December 2012, he believes franchising will offer a secure future for his family.
“There are a great deal more opportunities for potential franchisees in the UK than there were in Australia – with the plethora of successful small business in existence. I am looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead,” he said.
Bev Regan, head of franchising at aspect.co.uk, said that Graeme fitted the bill of the type of person they wanted in their franchising operation.
“We’re very much looking forward to Graeme coming on board,” said Regan. “Finding the right franchisee was vital, and we’re confident that we have achieved that. It is imperative that all our franchisees, moving forward, do credit to the brand we have spent so long building up.”
Regan said franchising represented a great opportunity for business people looking to expand in the current economy.
“Banks are more likely to loan to a franchisee than they are a small business start up – due to the fact that potential risks are reduced. As a result, we opted to work with successful and serial franchisor, Jim Zockoll, who has helped us to develop the franchise proposition,”
