Follow on Google News | i-To-i TEFL Helps Graduates Find Work AbroadIncreases in the graduate employment keep rising which is prompting more and more people to leave the country to find work. Graduates are turning to TEFL as way of travelling the world, adding recognised skills to their CV and gaining experience.
By: i-to-i TEFL According to the British Council’s ‘English Next’ report, "Within a few years, there could be around 2 billion people simultaneously learning English in the world’s schools and colleges and as independent adults. Nearly a third of the world population will all be trying to learn English at the same time." i-to-i, one of the world’s leading TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) training companies, believe that these two factors have led to a huge increase in the number of British graduates who are taking TEFL courses in the hope of finding work English overseas. James Jenkin, Academic Director of i-to-i TEFL says, “A growing number of graduates are taking our courses and heading overseas to teach English. And I think it's a great move. They get useful work experience. They get a much improved CV. They get to travel the world. And if they catch the bug and get a little experience, they can earn excellent wages by teaching in places like Saudi Arabia and South Korea. If I was graduating now, I'd be on the next plane out of the country!” Many of the English teaching positions available worldwide specifically ask for native English speaking graduates with a recognised TEFL qualification. These types of qualifications can be gained for as little as £149 and can be completed in just one weekend. So they can offer unemployed graduates a fast and inexpensive way to find work. Gemma Turner, Managing Director of i-to-i TEFL, has this advice for graduates struggling to find employment, ‘If you’re struggling to find work here in the UK, just get yourself a TEFL course and a plane ticket and you’ll be able to find well-paid work in no time. There are literally 1000’s of teaching jobs advertised every week and they’re crying out for native English speakers with degrees.’ TEFL opportunities for graduates: • Around two billion people are learning English worldwide according to the British Council* • Many top TEFL jobs require a degree • There are more TEFL jobs than there are TEFL teachers • Live and work in pretty much any country on the planet - Ends - Editors notes: 1.
