Asian Fusion Hits the Streets with Wassub

Today’s Culinary World Is All about Fusion, And Food Trucks Are Starting to Catch On.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Jul. 20, 2012 - (Washington, D.C). July 20, 2012 – Today’s culinary world is all about fusion, and food trucks are starting to catch on. In the Washington, D.C. area a new kid in the fusion food truck industry has hit the streets under the name “Wassub.” This Asian-fusion sub sandwich food truck is out to revolutionize how lunch breaks are taken in the D.C. area. No more pastrami, no more swiss – it is all about teriyaki and beef bulgogi.

What is Wassub Fusion?

Fusion is a new trend in food that has hit restaurants and food trucks alike. Essentially, fusion is the pairing of two or more cultural food groups into one. Wassub has decided to take the fiery and eclectic Asian flare of recipes like teriyaki chicken and beef bulgogi and pair them with the traditional Italian submarine sandwich. Combining these two groups creates a festive, funky and of course, delicious food fare for anyone hitting the streets of Washington, D.C.

Wassub is not the typical food truck sub sandwich provider. Instead of serving dainty bites that can be eaten with just one hand, Wassub wants its patrons to get involved and get eating – which means not worrying about a snack before dinner. Wassub serves up hearty portions, but without a hefty price tag.

Patrons are already raving about the “Asian-style cheesesteak” known as the beef bulgogi. This sandwich combines oozing provolone cheese, a scrambled wok-style egg, griddled kimchi and bulgogi beef that have been tenderized with a soy-based marinade. The marinade serves like a jus, which softens the bread to make taking extraordinarily big bites quick and easy.

About Wassub

You can catch this flashy yellow food truck yourself in the downtown Washington, D.C. areas of Farragut and Metro Center. Co-owners Yongi Yi and Min Song will showcase their delectable Asian fusion subs and newest creations throughout the week for street-goers to enjoy. Follow on Twitter for fun details and updates @WASSUBDC.
