One important question that must be answered is, what is cancer? The best way to look at this question is to decide what cancer is not. It’s not a thing, it’s not inherited and it’s not something that can be caught. Cancer is a process, it’s a dance; it is the body’s extraordinary effort to keep one alive. At first this may sound strange but there is logic behind this line of thinking.
First, it is important to consider the category under which cancer falls. Cancer is considered a disease so it is important to understand and remove many of the myths surrounding diseases.
One example of a disease is high blood pressure. If someone is diagnosed with high blood pressure it is necessary to lower it because medical research says that people with this disease have higher incidence of stroke, heart attack, and other potentially lethal side effects. With this in mind, many people begin taking a drug to lower their blood pressure.
Unfortunately, while this may seem to be the correct course of action, the underlying cause behind the emergence of high blood pressure is being neglected.
Studies show when one follows this course of action, he or she is much more susceptible to a myriad of cancers. For example, people given anti-hypertensive medications for a long time, have a higher-incidence of cancer in all organs.
The key in treatment is to find the real reason behind the occurrence of high blood pressure. One must understand that the body has not made a mistake, rather it is trying to help. The body, being part of nature, always acts out of absolute wisdom. So the question he or she should be asking is not “how do we lower your blood pressure?” but rather “why would the body that only does things out of wisdom, want to elevate a person’s blood pressure?”
The answer is simple, it is because the arteries are blocked.
The consequences of having a particular diet and living a certain lifestyle will eventually force the body to accumulate deposits in the arteries. To stay alive, one must get blood to all organs in the body. With deposits in the arteries this becomes harder, so the body, in it’s innate wisdom, increases the pressure to get blood and oxygen to the entire system. This process is not a problem, but rather a solution that saves one’s body from shutting down.
This way of thinking goes looks directly at the root of the problem rather than just aiming to find a solution. The answer is not to take artificial pharmaceutical products that dilate arteries and lower the blood pressure, because nothing is being accomplished. This is not a long-term approach to the problem.
When looking at the root of the problem it becomes clear that high blood pressure is not a disease; it’s the body’s effort to keep one alive. The real problem is the plugging of the arteries. The true cause and root of any so-called disease is what needs to be medically addressed.
The same logic can be applied to other diseases such as diabetes. It is not a disease, it’s not an entity, it’s not something that one inherits; it’s something that one develops.
At Dr. Lodi’s Vivante Clinic, it takes two to three weeks for a person who has been diagnosed as diabetic to obtain a normal blood sugar and insulin level. The key is that this process occurs without the aid of pharmaceutical drugs. In fact, this process can’t happen with drugs. Because diabetes is an eating disorder, Vivante Clinic focuses on changing the diet of the person suffering with diabetes.
One last analogy that aids in conferring a clear understanding of this logic is as follows: A person driving a car sees a red blinking light on the dashboard. Next, they reach into the glove compartment, grab a hammer, smash the light and go on back to driving. Obviously this method did not address the problem and it is likely the car will break down in the near future.
As an MD, Dr. Lodi says medical school taught him how to smash dashboard lights so one does not notice them. Ultimately, this approach does not work in the treatment of diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes and cancer.
Dr. Lodi believes the paradigm is wrong and because of this, one cannot ultimately achieve the goal of curing a disease such as cancer. The goal is not to get rid of these symptoms, it is the restore one to good health.
Cancer is not a disease. It’s the damage one’s body is doing to maintain your life. It is a signal that one needs to modify their biochemistry, which starts in the mind and ends in the colon.
There are a myriad of ways to make these modifications. One example is monitoring what one eats and puts in his or her body. Changing the framework in which diseases are perceived will allow people to think of the body as our best friend with certain requirements. Taking care of those requirements and the body will restore it back to health.
