July 19, 2012 - PRLog -- Canal Days will celebrate the museum’s relocation to its Emrick Center Building
and engage families in fun activities such as Canal Boat Rides, Duck Races, Conch
Calling Contest, Arts and Crafts and entertainment by Fireflies Yoga and Music to
My Ears. Fireflies Musical Yoga for Kids classes are active, musical family events.
The classes are packed with yoga poses, songs, movement, imaginative play, age-
appropriate props, and relaxation. Kira Wiley, a certified children’s yoga instructor
and songwriter, uses original songs, music and rhythm throughout the classes to
facilitate the flow of poses and enhance children’s enjoyment and learning. "Miss
Kathy" sings & plays guitar while leading the entire crowd in classic children’s sing-
along songs and even some rock & roll and up beat party music. The children (&
any "grownups" who want to join in) sing, dance & play interactive games with
shakers, scarves, castanets, hand drums, rubber duckies & "Miss Kathy's" bubble
machine.

The activities will be a mix of both free and paid events. Admission to Canal Day will
be a $5 donation per car. Volunteers and craft vendors are needed.

The National Canal Museum’s new home at the Emrick Center in Hugh Moore Park
features award winning, hands on educational exhibits that tell the story of our
region’s rich industrial history, visitors can ride the famous mule-drawn canal
boat and enjoy the natural beauty of Hugh Moore Park. The Museum is uniquely
poised to describe Easton and the Lehigh Valley’s pivotal role at the center of
Pennsylvania’s energy transportation network – the anthracite canals – and their
role in America’s industrial development, which was born here in a confluence of
canals, natural resources and human energy and ingenuity.
