Bite Resistant Arm Guards Now Available From U.S. Based Distributor Safety Today, Inc.

“PPSS bite resistant arm guards can protect mental health care professionals from physical injury, risk of infection, soft tissue damage and psychological distress" says Robert Kaiser, CEO of UK based PPSS Group.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Jul. 19, 2012 - In order to protect these great professionals in North America, U.S. based Safety Today, Inc has now been appointed as licensed distributor for this new type of PPE (Personal protective Equipment).

Mental health care professionals and others working within schools specialised in severe learning disabilities, challenging behaviour, special needs or autism, will know that human bites are relatively frequent in their work environment, and many seek protection from the subsequent injuries.

Bite injuries can of course become infected and mental health care professionals could subsequently be contaminated with pathogens. Transmissions of potentially life threatening viruses, such as Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C or HIV are also a part of reality.

Looking at the potential and realistic consequences, we must look at all possible options in order to help protect mental health care professionals from such consequences, which in the worst case scenario can include death following the transmission of an incurable virus.

"I believe that our bite resistant arm guards or sleeves can help protect these professionals and reduce the risk of workplace violence related injuries. They are, without question, a very effective approach to improve the individual safety of mental health care workers, drastically reducing the danger of infections", Robert Kaiser claims.

Bite resistant arm guards have recently been issued to a number of mental health care nurses and specialised care workers in countries around the world, and the U.S. and Canada have been a main source of incoming enquiries for this type of PPE, according to a spokesman of PPSS Group.

A padded (impact absorbing) version of their ever so popular Version 1 sleeves has now also been launched, effectively reducing the severity of bruising and offering additional protection from blunt forced trauma.

PPSS is the global leader of bite resistant clothing and other protective clothing, with distribution in a number of countries worldwide.
