$70 Million Construction Project Reaches Halfway Point, Builds On Growing Trend

PRLog (Press Release) - Jul. 19, 2012 - BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. – The Terraces at Bonita Springs, the new $70 million senior living community, reached a major construction milestone. Crews recently held a topping-out ceremony which celebrated the completion of the core structures at the community – including a six-story independent living building, three-story Healthcare wing and commons areas. With the community’s rising presence along Tamiami Trail, the second half of construction will focus on interior work and creating a resort experience for future residents, a rising trend in senior living.

“Our residents want to live in an environment where hospitality, service and attention to detail are the cornerstone of their experience. We’re creating that environment with every element of The Terraces,” says Troy Hart, president of SantaFe Senior Living, sponsor of the non-profit community. “Today’s seniors value flexibility, choice and engagement. They are more in control in their lives and experiences. The Terraces is designed to meet these new expectations so residents can lead the lifestyle they prefer.”

When construction is complete, about 300 older adults will be moving to the community featuring 144 one- to three-bedroom maintenance-free, independent living apartment homes. Residents will have a choice of chef-prepared meals at several dining venues, including a bistro, “white linen” dining, private event catering and a sky lounge with panoramic views atop the 6th floor of the building. Programming at The Terraces will include lifestyle events, educational classes and a fitness center with exercise and wellness instruction. Residents will also find features and amenities such as a multi-lane swimming pool, water aerobics, masseuses and spa services, a resistance equipment center, and concierge services.

“The Terraces is establishing the next level of service and refinement today’s seniors expect,” says Hart.

In addition to its independent living residences, as an Unlimited Lifecare community The Terraces will also provide lifetime access to on-site health care, including 48 assisted living, 40 skilled nursing and 18 dedicated memory support suites.

“Engaged seniors have a plan to assure they are in control of their life and health experience. They don’t want to be a burden to their children and are willing to make good decisions now to assure they remain in control in the future,” Hart says. “That’s a good thing for us, because their planning and thoughtfulness educates us and allows us to stay out in front of the shifting paradigm in senior living.”

In the coming months, passersby will notice construction crews completing the exteriors of buildings including window installation, stucco work and landscaping, in addition to the completion of interior spaces.

The Terraces at Bonita Springs is scheduled to open in the summer of 2013 and is located at 26401 S. Tamiami Trail. More than 80 percent of the residences are already reserved.
