That’s good news for both the hotel and for travelers.
“It seems that more and more people are using TripAdvisor when picking a place to stay,” said Hotel General Manager Anita Lane. “And many of those same people post something on the website after they stay somewhere.”
And people who stayed at the Downtown Knoxville Hampton Inn and Suites liked the experience. The facility averaged a 4.5 on a 5 point scale.
“We are so fortunate to have an outstanding team that works hard to make sure our guests have a great experience while they are here,” said Lane. “This recognition from one of the world’s most used travel websites is encouraging to our team because it tells them we’re doing things right for our customers."
It is also a clear sign to consumer how valuable these websites...and their opinions...can be in today's world.
"I think most good hotels monitor TripAdvisor.com and several others on a daily basis," said Lane. "What people say matters. It doesn't just matter to us...people thinking about staying here are going to look at that website and see what other guests say. It's extremely important. Good reviews can mean more business, bad reviews can sometimes mean lost business. Travelers have been empowered by websites like TripAdvisor.com. That transparency has been good for us and, we believe, it is good for both travelers and the travel industry."
Lane believes the Downtown Hampton Inn and Suites commitment to the environment is also an asset. The facility was the first hotel in the city to earn a “green” designation from the Tennessee Hospitality Association.
