Sir Alex Ferguson has remarked that he is confident that Persie will make the move from Arsenal to the Manchester club; however not everyone is convinced, and the possible career move has been the subject of much speculation over the course of the last few days. Further fuel was added to the rumours when Ferguson publically stated that he was willing to let one of his players, Dimitar Berbatov go, even though it was Berbatov who helped Macheda score the team’s only goal during their South African game, played against Amazulu. Meanwhile the Italian media has reported that Manchester United had already placed a bid for Persie, which Arsenal management chose to reject.
Amaechi Okwuosa director of a number of football fan clubs, has said that he believes Persie could end up naming too high a price and missing out on a move to Juventus, as this club seems to have lost interest in Persie and instead are now focusing on Stevan Jovetic. The forward could cost the club more than £23 million if the deal goes through. Persie is said to have rejected an offer made by Arsenal for £130,000 per week, whilst Juventus should be able to secure Stevan Jovetic for just £45,000 per week.
Ferguson’s only official remark on the subject was regarding Berbatov’s statement, which said that he wanted to move from Old Trafford to either Tottenham, or Galatarsaray. Ferguson has said that Berbatov is an extremely talented player, and that he could understand why he may have found his position as a forward last season frustrating, as he didn’t get into the action of the game quite as much as he would have liked. He added that at Berbatov’s age, with younger players such as Hernandez, Welbeck and Rooney in front of him, this position on the field would be challenging. Ferguson finished by saying that he believes Berbatov has a bright future, and he would be content to keep him on as a player, but he would not argue if Berbatov decides to leave.
Amaechi Okwuosa twitter user, has been inundated with tweets about Berbatov’s latest statement, made on his Facebook page about the rumours. On the site last week, the football player voiced his frustrations regarding the amount of speculation which has been occurring recently. He spoke of the confusion regarding his salary, with some papers reporting figures of £10 million, and others saying £5million.
