In July the company received confirmation of its status from the National Empowerment Rating Agency (NERA), a South African National Accreditation System (SANAS)-accredited verification agency, after having been fully assessed.

The criteria governing B-BBEE status is stringent says Sussman and companies have to comply with numerous elements, including equity ownership, management & control, employment equity, skills development and preferential procurement, amongst others.
“Skills development and control of the modern ICT enterprise are priority aspects of empowerment strategies today. These sectors are of critical importance to the country’s socio-economic framework and this is why management needs to reflect a transformed, changed society,” Sussman adds.
Level 4 status is confirmation of Integr8’s progress and advancement within the modern market – and an endorsement of its empowerment strategy to service the competitive ICT managed services space.
According to Sussman procurement and governance are central to the development of these sectors, which both contribute significantly to the economic growth of the country.

We are also acutely aware of the shortage of technical skills sets and we have targeted our training and practical skills development at helping to address this challenge,” he continues.
