Entries must be submitted by August 15, 2012. Selected contestants will compete before a panel of judges in September at Somerset Medical Center’s Steeplechase Cancer Center, which was named in honor of the Far Hills Race Meeting Association.
Last year, for the first time, a vocal trio – ICE from Tamaqua, Pennsylvania – sang the National Anthem prior to the event’s first race. Previous winners include Bill Tortoriello of Bridgewater and Marie Fosket of Basking Ridge.
This year marks the 92nd running of the Far Hills Race Meeting, the nation’s most prestigious steeplechase horse racing event, which attracts a premier field of horses from around the world. Since the 1950s, the Far Hills Race Meeting has raised more than $18 million for Somerset Medical Center.
