6 Day Fansipan trek in Vietnam.

* Itinerary in brief:
Day 1:   Hanoi – Mai Chau  (L/D)
Day 2    Mai Chau – Son La (B/L/D)
Day 3:   Son La – Dien Bien (B/L/D)
Day 4:   Dien Bien – Departure (B)

Day 1:    Hanoi – Lai Cai  
Meet at your place in Hanoi, Transfer to Hanoi railway station for night train (09:30) to Lao Cai. Overnight on train.

Day 2:    Lao Cai – Sapa – 2100 Base camp               (B’fast, lunch, dinner)
Arrive at Lao Cai railway station at 6.30 am. Meet our local tour guide then transfer by bus to Sapa. After shower and breakfast at hotel, you will be transferred to Tram Ton pass where we start our trekking.
From here it is uphill on narrow trails and through small spectacular passes with subtropical forest. (Be aware of leeches on the first part of the trek). Before nightfall, we pick a spot in the jungle and put up our camp in 2100 m altitude. Enjoying the nocturnal sounds of the forest is a perfect background for the smell of a good evening meal, being prepared by our guide and porters on a open fire.

Day 3:    Climb to the Fansipan Roof                 (B’fast, lunch, dinner)
After an early breakfast, we start slowly with a minor descend, before we again move upwards. If we are lucky, we might see some of the giant butterflies living around here, reaching a size of 25 cm. At around 2400 m the rainforest gradually gives way to huge, succulent bamboo, passing which we reach a ridge at 2900 m, and now have a magnificent view down through the long Sapa valley, over the area we have just passed, to the mountain range on the other side. We prepare our lunch at an elivation of 3100 m. Then we set out on the final ascend. A few steep stretches must be passed, but nothing insurmountable and we reach the summit at 3.143 m. We now stand at the highest point in Vietnam, the view is stunning, to the north into China as well as to the south and Laos, and the mountainous area with Dien Bien Phu in between. Time for a good long break, before we return to our base camp at 2100 m.

Day 4:    Descend down to Sapa                       (B’fast, lunch, dinner)
We enjoy our morning in the sounds of nature, then we take down the camp and move ahead down the mountain in another way to visit the isolated and seldom visited village of Sin Chai. Sin Chai is a village belonging to the Dao people, whose women wear beautifully embroidered clothes with distinctive silver jewellery and an enormous red turban. From here, you will be pick up and transfer to Sapa. Check in hotel in Sapa. Unwind and wash up.
Evening: dinner at a nice local restaurant. Overnight at hotel in Sapa

Day 5:    Sapa – Lao Cai - Hanoi:                         (B’fast, lunch)
Absolutely you can get up a little late today after a quite hard trek. Enjoy breakfast at hotel. Then whole day is free for shopping or just to relax or visit the day market in Sapa, make a trek with our guide to villages around Sapa …
We should be ready at Sapa at 4pm to be transferred to Lao Cai railway station and take the overnight train back to Hanoi

Day 6:    Hanoi      
Arrive Hanoi at around 06:00. You will be picked up by our guide in Hanoi and transferred to your place
