Returning for their sixth season, Steffan and Marc Fantini and Scott Gordon have produced the music for the hit drama since its first episode aired in 2007. For the 100th episode, the composers have created dramatic military music to concide with a special appearance from the U.S. Army Drill Team (USADT), 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard). “To add a real military feel and to pay tribute to all the men and women serving in the army, we put together a special composition featuring French horns, trumpets and snare drums,” stated Steffan Fantini.
Steffan and Marc Fantini, whose diverse careers have ranged from recording and producing music, created many hits for popular artists before transitioning into scoring for film and TV. While working on an album for Ringo Starr, the brothers met Scott Gordon, a leading engineer and mixer for many iconic performers including Alanis Morissette and Aerosmith. Gordon and the Fantinis then began their award-winning collaborative efforts, which have spanned various genres including classical, pop, rock, jazz, alternative and hip hop music.
For seven continuous seasons, the veteran television composers have scored CBS’s hit drama Criminal Minds, for which they received the Hollywood Music in Media Award for Best Dramatic TV Score. Their other accolades include ASCAP Awards for TV Music for Army Wives and Criminal Minds. They have also created music for films including The Lost Medallion: The Adventures of Billy Stone, Mercy Streets, and The Wager. Recently, they wrote music for Sony PlayStation’
