Ann Arbor’s Club Wolverine Swim Club to Host Splash Bash with Pizza and New Swimmer Evaluations

Attention all summer club swimmers and anyone else who is interested in learning to be a competitive swimmer: If you're enjoying summer swimming in Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Dexter, Chelsea, Brighton, Milan, Plymouth, or anywhere in surrounding Washtenaw County, you will want to attend this event.

Club Wolverine (CW) is Michigan’s fastest swim club and offers training for both new and seasoned swimmers. The club trains in a number of facilities in the Ann Arbor area including Eastern Michigan University, the University of Michigan, and local middle and high schools. CW is a great place for age group swimmers to train, have fun, and compete in USA meets around the country. Led by Head Coach Kelton Graham, CW swimmers perform well at all levels....from WISC to the Olympic Trials. CW hosts swim meets and social events and is excited to invite the Washtenaw swim community for an evening of Olympic swimming, pizza, and fun.

What better way to enjoy an evening than to watch Olympic swimming on a big screen while floating at UM’s famous Canham Natatorium? Join us at the Club Wolverine Splash Bash on Tuesday, July 31 from 5:30 to 9 PM. Bring your favorite floatie and your swim buddies to this family-friendly event. Come hungry because pizza, and kid friendly beverages will be provided at the event. For details check out the Splash Bash event on Club Wolverine’s Facebook page.

At the CW Splash Bash you will get to meet current CW swimmers and families.  CW is looking for age group swimmers aged 5 - 17 who want to learn about CW.  These can be brand new competitive swimmers and experienced swimmers who want to get faster. Swimmers interested in joining CW, will be evaluated and a suggested training groups provided.  This group placement is done to ensure every swimmer is in a group that best fits his or her goals and skill level. If the swimmer joins CW this fall he or she will begin in this suggested group. The Splash Bash is also a great opportunity for parents to meet other CW families and talk about what it’s like to be part of the Club Wolverine family.

During Splash Bash you can watch former CW swimmer Michael Phelps compete in the Men’s 200 Fly Final. And former CW age group swimmer Allison Schmitt will be competing in the Women’s 200 Free Finals that evening as well.  You can watch them on the giant Canham pool scoreboard while floating in the pool.  Remember to bring your floatie with you!

Few can say they’ve spent an evening at the University of Michigan Canham Natatorium with their favorite floatie, watching Olympic swimming and eating pizza with their buddies. Join us at Club Wolverine Swimming on Tuesday, July 31 at 5:30 for a night of delicious pizza and Olympic excitement at Splash Bash!
