General Adams, a decorated Marine Fighter pilot, entered the 2012 Outdoor Adventure Dream Giveaway on March 23, 2012, by making a $20 tax-deductible donation to WorldCause Foundation. He was thrilled to hear the great news, “I still can’t believe it,” General Adams said. “This prize encompasses everything I like to do and I am excited to have won. I live right on the water so I am looking forward to trying out the boat.”
In his free time, General Adams enjoys fishing, hunting and hiking and had seen an advertisement online for the 2012 Outdoor Adventure Dream Giveaway before deciding to enter, “I thought the prize was wonderful and I knew my donation would be helping some worthy causes, including the military,” General Adams said. “I’m a retired serviceman and I have donated to various charities in the past, and plan to continue donating in the future.”
For the first time ever two runner-up Dream Getaway packages were given away. 22 year-old Christian Marshall of Lafayette, Louisiana, was the winner of a 5-day, fully guided, big game elk hunt in Utah. Mr. Marshall will be joined by his father and celebrity guide Bill Miller. In addition to the trip, Mr. Marshall received a Ruger® hunting rifle and Leupold scope.
After finding a brochure for the 2012 Outdoor Adventure Dream Giveaway inside a package he received from Cabela’s, Mr. Marshall thought he would go ahead and enter, “I knew my donation would be helping some important causes and I am hoping the money raised will allow future generations a chance to enjoy the outdoors as much as I do.”
Steve Culbertson of Vancouver, Washington, was the winner of the other Dream Getaway, a 4-day fishing adventure at Costa Rica’s Crocodile Bay Lodge. Mr. Culbertson will be joined by his brother and celebrity guide Steve Pennaz. Mr. Pennaz is currently in the process of making arrangements for a TV crew.
Mr. Culbertson was excited to hear the great news, “I was shocked when I learned that I had won,” Mr. Culbertson said. “I am really looking forward to seeing Costa Rica and having the opportunity to do some fishing.”
