The collection consists of a variety of examples, dating back as early as the 1860’s including; a pair of wonderful 1880’s food bowls from Tesuque, 19th century child’s water jars from Santo Domingo, Zia, San Ildefonso, San Juan and Laguna/Acoma;
“There is a ghost-like mystery to these 19th century and oh-so-impermanent pueblo pottery small bowls and jars; who made them; how long did they offer sustenance to families; why are they still here? Small pays homage to this mystery. ”
