“It’s hard for our team to imagine that we began this project with a goal of selling, maybe, 200 T-shirts” said Sara DeRose co-creative director of Fixer Creative and co-organizer of the initiative. “To our pleasant surprise, a global community has reached-out to support this cause and as of this morning we have sold roughly 27,000 T-shirts.” “Additionally, we are overwhelmed how quickly we successfully surpassed our internal goal of $500,000 in T-shirts sales. In fact we are sitting pretty at $527,000 in sales! It is officially time for our group to pinch itself, because this is a dream come true!”
Inspired by the horrific Waldo Canyon fire in Colorado Springs, the grassroots operation is receiving interest from all over the world including: The United States, Canada, Australia and Denmark. The initiative launched at 12:00 p.m. MST on Wednesday, June 27th and by 4 PM MST. "We look forward to seeing how many shirts we sell as we move forward with this project," added DeRose.
Motivated by the Central Texas Wildfire T-Shirt fundraiser powered by AIRSHP in response to the Balstrop fire in Texas, the team recruited numerous local friends who wanted to help.
