British Bed Company Launch Event A Success

PRLog (Press Release) - Jul. 16, 2012 - The British Bed Company officially launched this weekend with a celebration at BamBam nightclub and a launch event at the factory itself. A number of local business persons and industry VIPs were in attendance to see in the launch of the fledgling company. Andrew Kerry, the company’s founder gave a speech to mark the occasion. Earlier in the day, Andrew appeared on the BBC radio to promote the brand, “we’re proud of buying British materials” he said, referencing the elevated cost in transporting beds from China or Turkey of recent times. Andrew was eager to explain how the mattresses would sell across a number of stores, including his own ‘Mattressman’ stores, but other companies could request their “own designs”. The British Bed Company’s first design, made on its one-of-a-kind quilting machine, was apparently “love hearts”. Andrew was quick to point out that any motif could be created, including words or names.

At the launch event, Andrew was greeted at the podium by North Norwich MP and UK treasury minister, Chloe Smith. Chloe was happy to back the company, claiming it to be “great to see another company springing up in Norwich”. She added that “small businesses like the British Bed Company are the bedrock of Norwich’s economy and I will continue to shout their success loud and proud”.

Guests at the launch event were treated to champagne and scones during the speeches, before being given a tour of the factory by Kerry. The factory’s new staff was present at the event, and at the after party where guests were entertained with a jazz band, a saxophonist and a disco. They then had their photos taken with the British Bed Company banner and with some of the new beds from the two new ranges, which were presented across the club floor. Paul Edwards, the company’s PR specialist was relieved that the event went according to plan; “it went very well” he said, “I couldn’t be happier”
