July 16, 2012 - PRLog -- JUPITER, FLORIDA – July 16, 2012 – In celebration of its 85th year anniversary, Collier Youth Services held a fundraising gala on June 8th, 2012 at the Eagle Oaks Golf & Country Club in Farmingdale, New Jersey. The Collier Youth Services Foundation is a regional, non-profit, non-sectarian organization that gives at-risk and handicapped children “a chance to grow” to their potential through its specialized middle school, high school, residential group homes (Red Bank and Keyport), year-round environmental educational studies, summer day camp sessions, and other recreational programs. For 85 years, this charity organization has provided various recreational and educational programs and services for at-risk youth, and to celebrate this huge feat, the organization held a gala event that featured musical acts, fine dining, auctions and even a chance to unlock a jewelry box containing a $1,600 David Yurman watch.

During the event, Collier Youth Services honored the Sisters of the Good Shepherd, who founded the organization in 1927.  In addition, many contributors and benefactors were honored, including AT&T Pioneers, who consist of a network of former and current AT&T employees that have volunteered their time and participated in many service projects to enhance the grounds at Collier, and Tim McCloone and Holiday Express.

Collier Youth Services also took this opportunity to recognize a long time friend of the organization, philanthropist and humanitarian, Howard Schoor, who was a Ruby Sponsor for the event. For over 20 years, Mr. Schoor served on the Board of Directors of Collier Services where his contributions have helped provide year-round environmental educational studies, summer day camp and recreational programs for these at-risk children. Several years ago, Collier Services also established the Howard M. Schoor Humanitarian Fund in honor of Howard’s support and service.

“As in previous years, I was excited to show my support for Collier Youth Services foundation,” explains Mr. Howard M. Schoor.  “It is my pleasure to help the organization for this annual event which is so important in raising the funds we need to help so many at-risk children in the area.”

The 2012 Collier Youth Services Anniversary Gala was a huge success with monies raised from its ad journal, auction, silent auction and 50/50.
