The Wells Fargo Foundation Contributes $10,000 to Quality Life Center’s Jobs Program

PRLog (Press Release) - Jul. 16, 2012 - Quality Life Center’s Believe to Achieve program received a $10,000 grant from The Wells Fargo Foundation.  Believe to Achieve is a two-phase personal enrichment and job training program which helps participants overcome obstacles and become strong, productive and self-reliant. The first phase of the BTA program includes training in computer technology as well as business and technical writing. Students are also taught techniques to overcome adverse thinking patterns so they can make decisions, solve problems, communicate effectively and acquire habits that will move them toward their goals. During the second phase, participants receive on-the-job training. Over 50% of BTA graduates have become employed, enrolled in post-secondary education or both.

Pamm Benjamin had been looking for a job for three years when she signed up for the Believe to Achieve program. She worked on her communication skills, updated and modernized her resume, and was hired for a seasonal job a week after graduating from the program. The job ended in June, but it took Pamm – armed with new-found confidence and recent job experience - less than a month to obtain a full-time permanent position as an administrative assistant.
