Reality Star Josie Goldberg Set Out To Steal A $50,000 Purse At Betfair

Playboy Model & Actress Josie Goldberg Debuted Her Thoroughbred Horse At Betfair Hollywood Park, Saturday, For A $50,000 Purse.

July 16, 2012 - PRLog -- Reality television star Josie Goldberg, has modeled for Playboy and searched for love on The CW Network’s Farmer Wants a Wife, and Bravo’s Millionaire Matchmaker, only to end up empty handed.

While immersed in the world of horse racing at Santa Anita Park for a part in the David Milch series 'Luck,’ she realized her love for the industry. When her role and the show were canceled from HBO, Goldberg partnered with a knowledgeable thoroughbred owner, purchased a few horses and began to do a bit of horse racing on her own.

"In Hollywood, people would always tell me that I'm too big or too out there, but thoroughbred horse racing is about bloodlines, it's about pedigree, and I'm a pedigree woman," Goldberg said. "So I find that this is the right industry that I want to parallel with."

"For some reason, when I would drive to Santa Anita every day, I felt like I wanted to be in the show so bad, but it had nothing to do with the show, I just loved the whole ambiance, the horses, the action, the champagne," Goldberg said. "I don't know why, but I always felt an attraction to horse racing."

This weekend Goldberg's horse, Only Josie Knows, debuted at Betfair Hollywood Park in Inglewood, for a $50,000 purse.

“Honestly, I'm very nervous because it's like children when you have a horse," said Goldberg.

As Goldberg watched from the finish line with her family, friends and partner Phil Daniels, Only Josie Knows, came in last place. Goldberg and Daniels have hope for another race in August at Del Mar Thoroughbred Club.

“I believe that this meet wasn't the best meet, but I believe Del Mar is going to change our luck and we're going to do much better," said Goldberg.

The spoiled and entitled princess was instilled to have a positive, never-give-up attitude about life by her parents who brought the philosophy with them from Russia.

"My whole mission is when you get lemons, you turn it into lemonade," Goldberg said. "I was on Dr. Phil and everybody laughed at me. I was promised a huge part on the 'Luck' show and it's amazing how that all fell through and I still became a winner.

"That's why my parents came from Russia, because in life, you have to make the best of the opportunities."

Equine therapy has helped tremendously with Goldberg’s anxiety. In the future, as she builds her “Spoiled & Entitled” brand, she looks forward to working with organizations that help people with this style of treatment. On account of Luck Goldberg realized her true calling, horse racing.

"I believe in luck and destiny," Goldberg said. "Everything I have done with Hollywood has to do with horses and animals, so I am hoping I can build my brand and become an entrepreneur. This is my life."
