July 14, 2012 - PRLog -- "Reichold Street," the debut novel by Michigan author Ronald L. Herron, has been selected as one of the top five finalists in the young adult genre by the 2012 International Readers Favorite Awards.

It is the moving account of a group of young urban friends who come of age during the turbulent 1960's. Albert Parker and his family arrive on Reichold Street with issues of mental and physical abuse. Albert becomes labeled as a bully, but his character is revealed as a product of an abusive environment...a boy with a destiny already marked for failure.

Ronald L. Herron has been called a master of the art of character development. You can hear each character's voice clearly as their experiences on Reichold Street unfold. Some of the characters you are introduced to will walk away from the neighborhood to fame; some to defeat; and some will never survive the haunting essence of the place they called Reichold Street.

This is one of the reasons the "2012 Readers Favorite Awards" has selected "Reichold Street" as one of the top five finalists for this year.
