Fashion Week Las Vegas Emerging Designer Competition August 18, 2012

July 16, 2012 - PRLog -- Fashion Week Las Vegas ( FWLV) is preparing an event for August 18, 2012, for a one night private event showcasing international and national emerging designers in the Semi Finalist Competition. The semifinalists were selected June 30, 2012 out of close to 40 entrants from all over the world.  Designers were asked to submit their looks in photos or sketches, and provide a brief description of their line, along with line sheets, look books and past lines to show the quality of their work, in order to qualify. The one year requirement in the industry as well as actively creating at least one line or more per year was a critical part of qualifying.  Selected semifinalist designers are to have three finished pieces ready by August 2012, for the one night event. The international countries being represented are South Africa, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, UK, Costa Rica, and Australia; the US states being represented are Texas, California and Nevada.
The organizers of FWLV have planned a night showcasing the collective emerging designers from around the world; this program is one of many for February 2013. The winning designers will participate as guests during FWLV 2013.
Fashion Director, Gus Castaneda is optimistic that this program for Fashion Week Las Vegas will grow rapidly for next season, as FWLV awareness increases the Emerging Designer Competition interests will grow with momentum.  
The competition will be part of the Private Press Event being held at Lake Las Vegas on Saturday evening at 6:30 pm.
