In addition to local press and a feature in Long Beach Island’s vacation guide, there has been much excitement coming from the media in Spain. With a year that has been highlighted in tough financial times for the European company, the cultural exchange has been received with a positive light. Spanish newspapers and journals such as Ultima Hora, Menorca Diario Insular, Menorca.info, and Revista De Ferreries all covering the potential to help business owners, residents and visitors proudly announcing the exchange. A very successful early morning video Press Conference that took place on Long Beach Island in May with representatives from the Long Beach Island School System, Southern Ocean County Chamber/DMO and Island Advisor.com connected school children and their teachers led to a flurry of articles and photos to help launch this exciting project.
As the exchange expands and brings more interest, there are several plans for new and exciting outreach such as a Holiday Fiesta lecture in December, school projects and business discussions as well as art, culinary and historic Spanish shipwreck program through Museum of NJ Maritime History in Beach Haven.
