Follow on Google News | Are exit fee’s appropriate for Property Management…Within the past year there has been an increase in different fee’s that management companies are beginning to charge, that allow them to offer an unusually low management fee.
For today’s post we will specifically cover Exit Fee’s. For those who are not familiar with an exit fee, it is something that an HOA, condo association or other client will pay due to the ending of the management organization they are doing business with. Yes there is work involved when a manager or management company loses an association, however is that not part of the job in overseeing the association. After all, if the association or customers assets were overseen in a good organized manner, shouldn’t it be a very easy process to get the information needed over to the new management company. Perhaps if the exit fee is spelled out in a clear manner as to what all is covered for the fee, and a breakdown of the charges this will be easier to swallow. Once again it almost feels as if it is another way for a company to generate revenue and dangle a low priced carrot in front of you to get your business.
