July 13, 2012 - PRLog -- JERSEY CITY, NJ [July 13, 2012] Last March after a best friend commissioned Ashley Lucas to paint a wall mural, it didn’t feel right to just draw something out of her own imagination.  Instead, she asked the child what he would love to have on his wall. The result was a creative and wonderful jungle-volcano drawing, something Lucas herself would have never thought of. After a brief ‘interview’ with the young budding artist, Lucas went back to her own studio desk and drew a refined sketch.  Days later the wall mural was complete.

Lucas is not only a Jersey City artist and published children’s author, but also an active arts instructor for children in the area. Her deep understanding and experience with kids is what sparked her current summer offering of ‘kid’s vision’ murals to Jersey City, Hoboken and Manhattan residents. “Children love to be a part of everything around them, so it only makes sense to include their vision in something as permanent as a wall mural”, Lucas says. From now until the end of 2012, Ashley is focusing a good portion of her career on bringing these murals to members of her community.
