Smart Transaction Systems Releases The Gift & Loyalty App for iPhones, iPads

PRLog (Press Release) - Jul. 12, 2012 - Smart Transaction Systems (STS), provider of innovative gift card & loyalty card solutions, has released an app that enables businesses to process gift and loyalty card transactions using any of Apple's mobile touch-screen products. The Gift & Loyalty App uses QR codes on the back of cards to process transactions, offering small businesses a convenient new way to accept and sell gift cards in-store and in mobile environments.

"The Gift & Loyalty App is perfect for food trucks, farmer's markets, trade shows, and special events. It's also an easy solution for merchants using iPad or iPhone-based POS systems," said Ray Clopton, President of STS. "Our app allows businesses to take advantage of equipment they already have and avoid buying wireless terminals or mag-stripe readers."

To process a card, the user simply focuses the smartphone's camera on the QR code. The app automatically scans the card and captures the card data. There is no need for a receipt printer: after the transaction is complete, the user can email a receipt to the customer.

Users can customize e-receipts, password-protect the app, and use the QR code feature to share contact information with other smart phone users at events such as meetings and conventions.  The app is available from Apple's App Store and works on any iPhone, iPad, or WiFi-connected iPod Touch. The Gift & Loyalty App will be available for Android-based devices later this summer.
