The plot proceeds rapidly down an engrossing path as Detectives Marc Caballera and John O’Farrell are assigned to investigate several grizzly college campus murders.
Before long, Detective Caballera finds himself the guardian of deaf twins and is forced into dividing his time between the murder investigations and attempting to learn sign language from a local instructor, Jasmine Finn.
Up to this point, Jasmine had thought of her life as completely gratifying; now though, something more desirable had caught her eye—Detective Caballera and his adorable fraternal son and daughter twins.
Although attracted to Marc, Jasmine’s past relational problems now hinder her from pursuing him. Instead, she draws back into her own world while dodging Marc’s romantic pursuits.
When Jasmine unexpectedly receives flowers from a “Secret Admirer,” Marc’s detective hat goes back on and soon he unveils an alarming connection between her ‘admirer’ and the campus murders he is currently investigating.
Caballera is convinced that Jasmine is in danger of becoming the next victim. The question now is…who will get to her first?
Born and raised in New York City, Jade Vergus was exposed to every cultural aspect that life in the big city could offer. In her freshman year of college, Jade worked at a summer camp for special needs children where she found that one deaf child had isolated himself from everyone else except her. Spending the summer working with that child ultimately inspired her interest in sign language and it was during this time that the characters in “Silent Flower: Can You Hear the Screams?” were born.
Having lived in St. Maarten, England, Atlanta, New York, and Chicago, Ms. Vergus finally settled for a more quiet life in a small, rural town in Northeast Georgia where she currently lives. Jade now spends her days teaching middle and high school students and still enjoys reading, jigsaw puzzles, and playing with her dogs.
