Prior to the ongoing VALUE optimization (oVo™) initiative, Reveal delivered the initial phase of their oVo™ Methodology, a Wellness Assessment, in which they performed an investigative analysis on Rust-Oleum’s supply chain. The analysis included a comparison of SAP® Best Practices with current processes within their existing SAP® System. Reveal identified opportunities for standardization within the supply chain and conducted a review of Rust-Oleum’s forecasting and demand planning practices. On the final day of Reveal’s one week analysis, they defined the value proposition and a roadmap to guide Rust-Oleum in the next steps towards their supply chain optimization initiatives.
As a result of the insight and value opportunities that Reveal provided to Rust-Oleum for their supply chain operations, Rust-Oleum decided to engage with Reveal on the next phase of their oVo™ Methodology, the Optimization Phase.
Over the next several months, Reveal will assist Rust-Oleum’s supply chain team in improving their purchasing and fulfillment strategies by reviewing supplier relationship and on-time delivery performance. They will do this by managing MRP strategies, forecasts, and demand items within SAP®. By providing production strategies for scheduling and capacity planning, Reveal’s education and assistance will provide Rust-Oleum with the ability to further reduce unnecessary inventories and operational costs. This project will build awareness of standard Sales and Operation Planning (S&OP) functionality and create an initial planning hierarchy that has flexible structures to align the Rust-Oleum team.

When Reveal and Rust-Oleum complete this supply chain initiative, Rust-Oleum’s supply chain team will have the confidence and capability to sustain the inventory reductions and increased their return on investment of their SAP® system, on their own.
