Love Your (lovingly hand-packed) Condom

At www.getiton.co.nz, gay and bisexual men can order free condoms and lube to be delivered to their home in a discreet, unmarked envelope. The free condom and lube packs are also easily found on counter-tops and discreet corners of many GLBT-friendly venues across New Zealand such as cafes, bars, clubs, saunas, and cruise clubs. “Providing our patrons with free condoms and lube is important”, says Paul Heard, owner of Urge Bar on Auckland’s K’Rd. “It shows we care about the health and wellbeing of our community and that we are all responsible for helping maintain a condom culture”

The Get it On! condom and lube packs are generously packed by volunteers every week in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. In the last 12 months they’ve stuffed half a million condoms and half a million lube sachets into little packets bearing the Love Your Condom message. Harris says, “We couldn’t do what we do without our volunteers. They are an incredibly generous group from all different parts of our community, bound together by their desire to make our community a safer place.”

Condom packing night is not just about helping your community, says Harris.  “It’s also a great way to meet new people, especially if you’re not into the ‘gay scene’. It’s always a great night, with drinks, nibbles and lots of great conversation!”
