Almeda Mall Hosts Houston Grand Finale of La Academia

July 11, 2012 - PRLog -- HOUSTON (July 10, 2012) - The Houston Grand Finale of La Academia, the popular internationally syndicated Mexican reality TV talent show, comes to Almeda Mall (12200 Gulf Freeway) in Houston, Texas this Saturday, July 15th on Channel 51 Azteca Houston. The show will mark the successful finish of the program’s tenth straight season and opens a new chapter in events hosting for one of Houston’s most classic commercial locations.

“La Academia is one of the ultimate worldwide performance contests,” said Almeda Mall Vice President Terry Felton in a statement released earlier this week. “Our relationship with the program and Azteca Houston has brought tremendous benefit to our patrons. We cannot wait to see who comes out on top and becomes the next international star!”

The show comes amidst the program’s broad geographic talent search for its upcoming season, an audition tour that includes Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Miami, Chicago and New York. The finale of “The Decade Season” will feature two minute performances from dozens of singers.

Past La Academia stars have formed highly successful music groups in past years. La Posta, Laif and G6 were all formed by former La Academia stars. Current bands comprised of La Academia stars such as Las Reinas, 2+, Tobby, Niña Rock and Marconi have enjoyed critical acclaim around the globe. Several seasons have featured famous guest performers. International versions of the show have been produced in Mexico, the US, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and the UK.
