       Joy Restored is book one in the Chanute Chronicles Series, which are set in Pickett County, Tennessee. Here we meet Kate Davidson, moving slowly forward in her remodeled life, but inwardly waging war with God, whom she thinks snuffed out her husband’s life on that mountain curve. Clayton may as well have died in the jungles of Vietnam as in a one car accident on Wolf’s River Bridge. In her anger, she almost misses the incredible love offered by rich widower Seth Orbin.

   In book two, Nurtured in Purple, Kate and Seth, who are happily married and expecting a baby, find their second chance turns turbulent. When Kate’s pregnancy becomes complicated and potential loss again hits heart and faith, vulnerability threatens to defeat. Can this small family stumble toward redeeming light again?

   Nemeses Willard and Elizabeth, now engaged, still harbor revenge for Kate and Seth. Discrediting the Orbins becomes their obsession. How can Christians, called to be salt and light to the world, overcome those bent on their destruction?

   The Vietnam support group for women with connections to the Vietnam War flourishes under Kate’s direction. A widow named Ruth, alone, bitter and addicted, endeavors to raise her nine year-old son, but has little options until embraced by love.

   Friends Ninville and Margie untangle a strong attraction, hardly believing the late bloom of love.
