Final Call for Entries for IET Innovation Awards 2012

The Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET) has today issued the final call for entries for its 2012 Innovation Awards, honoring the most innovative individuals and companies at the forefront of science, engineering and technology.

 
PRLog - Jul. 11, 2012 - Bangalore, India, 11 July, 2012: The Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET) has today issued the final call for entries for its 2012 Innovation Awards, honoring the most innovative individuals and companies at the forefront of science, engineering and technology.

Recognising the depth and breadth of innovative work being carried out across all areas of engineering and technology, at all stages of development, the IET Innovation Awards span 15 categories and is open to international entry for members and non-members alike. These include electronics, healthcare and sustainability; and will be judged by a panel of more than 80 esteemed industry and academic experts. Winning this award will provide individuals and companies a chance to be recognised and promoted amongst the 1,50,000 plus strong IET network across the globe.

Tim Hamer, Director of Knowledge at the IET commented: “Engineering plays a vital role in enriching our daily lives - from the transport that we take to the electronic devices that we use - and these awards recognise the most innovative players in industry. Now in its eighth year, the Innovation Awards are internationally recognised, attracting some of the most pioneering technology year-on-year. The debut of the sports technology category this year is particularly exciting, celebrating the role of science, engineering and technology in pushing the boundaries of athletic participation and performance

With the 31 July deadline fast approaching, the IET urges individuals and organisations from all over the world to celebrate their products and technologies by putting themselves forward today. Entry to the Innovation Awards is free and details can be found at www.theiet.org/innovation

The IET will announce the 2012 shortlist in early October ahead of the prestigious ceremony, to be held at The Brewery, London on Thursday 22 November 2012.
