But take a closer look and you see a company which has chosen a different direction and as a result found itself in some extra ordinary situations.
Yodelay from it's outset made a commitment to delivering as much of their surplus profit to charity and community groups as possible.
Started on a shoe string by founder Duncan Johnson the group has grown in two years to specialise in delivering digital marketing solutions to industrial and engineering companies globally.
Along side the standard development of the business as an agency model the Yodelay team began work on delivering their first digital marketing mobile app, which has caught the attention and interest of several leading figures in the global SEO scene. The app will launch in August 2012 and be available as free download with extended feature upgrades.
Yodelay innovated an outreach programme in their home city of Norwich a hot bed of digital marketing and design London escapees. Though like many provincial cities the world over there is a high degree of rivalry and distrust between the local agencies.
Determined to change things Yodelay pulled together 50 of the 100+ digital marketing agencies in their part of the world for a State of Digital Day, where agencies presented on SEO and digital marketing topics. Sharing knowledge and real world examples of work.
"The purpose of State of Digital was to encourage the free sharing of knowledge between agencies so that we might all learn and raise our standards" - Duncan Johnson founder of Yodelay.
The event worked fantastically well bringing agencies together who were able to network and find potential providers of services they currently did not offer.
"For one day the egos were let go and people genuinely shared. The result is a core group of agencies working toward raising standards."
Following on from the June State Of Digital event Yodelay has reached the milestone of 2yrs in business. to celebrate and keep their ethos of sharing moving forward they have arranged a free digital marketing training day for up to 120 businesses in the state of the art facilities at the Forum, right in the historic heart of Norwich overlooked by it's 850 year old Norman castle. The training day is on the 9th August 2012 and is open to everyone.
Businesses will be able to attend and learn about the latest search and digital marketing ideas and techniques.
