In the opening of her book, Heinzelman writes, "Twenty years ago I was left for dead by my husband, the father of my children, the man I loved. As I lay limp, he knelt down near my face for a moment before standing and kicking me in the ribs.
Evidently satisfied he had killed me, he drove away, leaving our children to discover their mother’s lifeless body. He had no clue that his wife, the mother of his children, the woman he loved, would live to tell of his abuse." and tell of his abuse she did.
About the Author:
Brenda Irish Heintzelman earned her Associate of Science and Arts degree from Northwestern Michigan College and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Calvin College. Currently, she is a graduate student in the Criminal Justice Administration program at Ferris State University, and she intends to earn her law degree in order to open a practice which specializes in helping victims and survivors of domestic violence and child abuse.
Brenda is the broker and owner of Traverse City Realty, an NRA certified firearms instructor and range officer, a member of Mensa, and a volunteer who has coached basketball, served with the community meals program, and has been a vocalist in the praise band at her church. Brenda’
