Christopher Thames grew up in Southeast Texas where he has always loved the art of cooking, so it was no surprise when other graduates his age were heading off to major universities, that Christopher headed to New York to be classically trained at the world renowned Culinary Institute of America. This is where his passion and his career began to become one that most Chef's dream about.
Chef Thames' diverse experience ranges from Executive Chef for The World Bank/IFC, Executive Banquet and Event Chef at the famous Jefferson Hotel, a Relais & Châteaux luxury hotel member. Chef Thames has also traveled extensively as a traveling Executive Chef with Cirque Du Soleil out of Montréal, Quebec. Most recently he appeared on Food Networks award winning competition show Chopped, which he secured the title "Chopped Champion."
Christopher decided to come back to the South to share his knowledge, experience and artistry with his loyal fans and future guests. He has two decades of experience in the catering industry and has found that there is a niche market in offering onsite, at home, cooking classes as well as white tablecloth catering for small intimate gatherings. When asked why he is limiting Distinctive Fare to these type of events, Chef Thames replied, "My pleasure comes when I get the opportunity to interact with the guests and to see their reactions as they themselves create a masterpiece. "
