Grace Centers of Hope Hosts 5th Annual “Men on a Mission” Softball Tournament, July 27-28

Proceeds benefit “Men on a Mission” Mentoring Program at Grace Centers of Hope

PRLog - Jul. 9, 2012 - Grace Centers of Hope, one of the oldest and largest homeless shelters in southeast Michigan, will host the 5th Annual “Men on a Mission” Softball Tournament at Borden Park in Rochester Hills on Friday, July 27, and Saturday, July 28.
Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the “Men on a Mission” Mentoring Program, which provides Grace Centers of Hope mentors who have overcome their own issues of addiction and homelessness with the resources to further their education and skills.  This includes college tuition or vocational training, books, transportation, school supplies, as well as any other related expenses.
“The ‘Men on a Mission’ Softball Tournament is a wonderful opportunity to spotlight the great work of our dedicated mentors,” said Darin Weiss, chief operating officer of Grace Centers of Hope.  “They are making great strides to improve their lives and we are so grateful to the community for helping us raise funds to offer this worthwhile program.”
The softball tournament is open to a total of 36 men’s teams that are Class C, D or below.  The tournament is a Round Robin style, which means teams will be seeded into an elimination bracket based upon their win/loss record.  Teams are limited to a maximum of 14 players with all teams playing at least three games.  Cost is $350 per team.  Participants can register online or by phone.  Each tournament participant will receive a free t-shirt the day of the event.  The deadline for team registration is July 15.
Grace Centers of Hope is a 501©3 nonprofit organization. All donations greater than $50 are tax deductible.  To register, become a sponsor or make a contribution, visit www.gracecentersofhope.org, or contact Brandon Hahn at 855-HELP-GCH ext. 1137, or softball@gracecentersofhope.org.
