The “Florida Legal Elite 2012” lists represent less than two percent of the more than 67,000 active Florida Bar members who practice in Florida.  Overstreet Johnson is one of only a few attorneys in the state inducted into the prestigious Hall of Fame. Several of Broad and Cassel’s attorneys have been honored as “Florida Legal Elite” in the past and have been recognized countless times for their legal prowess and knowledge of their field.  

“Florida Legal Elite 2012” honorees were nominated by Florida Bar members, past “Legal Elite” award winners, and members of the Florida Association of Corporate Council, who were surveyed to name lawyers whom they hold in the highest regard — lawyers they have worked with or would recommend to others. Lawyers were given scores based on the number of votes they received and whether the votes came from within their firm (one point) or outside their firm (three points). A panel of past “Legal Elite” lawyers representing different practice areas and cities across the state also reviewed the selection process and the list of finalists.
