PCPS Introduces New Procedure for Men

July 9, 2012 - PRLog -- Manila, Philippines—Dr. Edwin Paul V. Magallona of the Philippine Cosmetic Plastic Surgery center unveils its latest procedure for men on Tuesday, July 3.

Dr. Magallona is happy to announce that the clinic is now offering abdominal etching for men.

According to Dr. Magallona, abdominal etching is a form of liposuction that removes the extra or sagging skin layers covering the abdomen.

“The best candidates for this procedure are people who have strong abdominal muscles that might have been masked by an extra tummy fat or skin,” Dr. Magallona clarified.

“Unlike tummy tuck, abdominal etching is intended for the surface area above the abdominal muscles,” he added.

Dr. Magallona, a board certified plastic surgeon, says that aside from rhinoplasty, a significant number of his male patients opt to have abdominal etching to correct previous tummy tuck or liposuction surgery.

He also advises them to follow a strict diet and exercise program to retain the chiseled appearance after the procedure.

In addition, he stressed that the procedure is not for everyone. Dr. Magallona screens his clients first for eligibility purposes.

“The patient must have good muscle tone and should have developed abdominal muscles. The procedure is for patients with less than two centimeters of fat that can be pinched. If I found out otherwise, I will not proceed with the operation,” he said.

He explained that. “Plastic surgery in the Philippines is not limited to women these days; my male clients are professionals who want to look and feel good about themselves. Aside from that, there’s also a very stiff competition in the corporate world that’s why they do it.”

“I’ve been doing abdominal etching for men in the last two years and I doubt that it will diminish any time soon,” Dr. Magallona said when asked about the present in-demand procedure for men.

Moreover, he said that there is an almost equal ration of men and women who do abdominal etching and tummy tuck. This procedure, he adds, is the next big thing in the Philippine plastic surgery landscape.

Dr. Magallona explains further that this procedure is not the easy answer to have washboard abs. Instead, this is just one way of achieving it.

“The tested formula is still a combination of proper diet, exercise and a healthy outlook in life,” he ended.
