SBPRA Signs eBook Deal with Korea at Seoul International Book Fair

PRLog (Press Release) - Jul. 6, 2012 - SEOUL – Strategic Book Publishing & Rights Agency (SBPRA) has announced the sale of its eBook catalogue for distribution throughout Korea. The agreement was reached during the Seoul International Book Fair (SIBF) 2012 and adds to SBPRA’s growing global distribution network for its authors and clients: similar distribution deals are already in place for China, India, Taiwan, and Russia.

i-ePub, Inc. will acquire over 700 SBPRA titles for inclusion to their platform and resale. The contract will make SBPRA’s catalogue available for purchase and download through 16 major distributors based throughout Korea, such as Interpark and yes24, as well as the country’s largest chain of book stores, Kyobo.

With a contract already in place with Korea’s Language World Digital (LWDigital), this new agreement gives SBPRA a second distribution network within Korea for its e-book catalogue, a first for a western publishing company.

Being first is nothing new for SBPRA. At the Seoul International Book Fair, SBPRA representatives were the only present from a U.S. publisher, which led to a flurry of meetings and leads. SBPRA is committed to its presence at book fairs around the world. According to CEO Robert Fletcher, “Our global road trip, where we visit all of the biggest publishing tradeshows, is paying off for our authors and our company. We see that eBooks are the fastest way for the developing nations to bring English content to their people, and then, once the books get sales and exposure, the POD and print books follow. The future looks bright.”
