July 6, 2012 - PRLog -- One estimate has over 13.5 million people with a Health Savings Account and unless ObamaCare is repealed many of these people will lose their HSA and their health plan.

HSAs along with Consumer Driven Health Plans have been the most successful way to save on health care costs in the past 8 years, but under ObamaCare these plans will no longer be available for individuals or small groups.

House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan. Congressman Ryan sponsored the HSA legislation back in 2003. On July 11th, the House is expected to vote to Repeal ObamaCare and save the HSA program.

“Mr. HSA” Roy Ramthun. Prior to forming his HSA Consulting Services practice, Mr. Ramthun was the Special Assistant to President George W. Bush for Economic Policy at the White House. Mr. Ramthun was the Senior Advisor to the Secretary of the U.S. Treasury for health initiatives. In this role, he led Treasury’s implementation of Health Savings Accounts after they were enacted into law in December 2003. Mr. Ramthun testified on May 31st 2012, before the House Subcommittee on Health, Education, Labor & Pensions on the Medical Loss Ratio and its effect on the HSA program.

Dan Perrin founder of the HSA Coalition: Mr. Perrin is a former U.S. Committee on Foreign Relations staff member where he served for more than seven years, as well as staff to the U.S. Senate Steering Committee. In 2004 Mr. Perrin was the founder and editor-in-chief of the website HSA Insider, and sole contributor to its content until it was sold, while he was running the site, it was the number one website in the world on Health Savings Accounts. Mr. Perrin has been quoted in virtually every major daily newspaper in the United States including the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the Washington Post, the LA Times, the Miami Herald, and in newsmagazines like TIME.
