Tomato Hoedown at Sunset View Farm in Andover, NJ

According to yoursomerset.com, Spirit of the Arts Foundation is partnering with Sunset View Farm to hold their first annual Tomato Hoedown on Saturday, July 28, 2012 from 11:00 am-4:00 pm. The Farm is located on 27 Pierce Road in Andover, New Jersey.

Sandy Mitchell, president of Spirit of the Arts Foundation said: "We are delighted to be able to work with Linda Grinthal and her staff and volunteers at Sunset View Farms on this unique event. The Hoedown will be a fun filled day for kids and parents alike.”

Throughout the day there will be lots of family fun and educational things to do. Attendees can enjoy food, music, workshops, classes and shopping. Anyone with a taste for the unusual can participate in the rotten tomato fight. Get ready for a lot of fun, and, by the way, you will be contributing to the composting effort with the tomato fight. So bring goggles and a rain slicker or large plastic bag to protect your clothes.

A raw food demonstration and a class on tomato canning will also be taking place during the day. You will be able to see all of the right Canning equipment so you can do it yourself when your crops are in. A large variety of tomatoes will be available for purchase as well.

A soap making class will be held for participants to enjoy. This is an opportunity to see how to make your own personal brand of soap.

The kids can hike through a nature trail and Labyrinth while adults will be able to take a tour of the Community Garden and CSA.

There will be Country music playing and folks can learn how to barn/square dance. So put on your cowboy boots and hats and come on down for a heck of a good time.
