Asia Black releases “Naked and Exposed” to rave reviews!

July 5, 2012 - PRLog -- Asia Black remembers back in Houston, Texas when her grandmother used to have her sing for friends and family at the age of three.  Her family knew even then, that there was something special about her. At the age of 13 Asia began writing songs and at 19, she landed on a hit song (singing the hook) with South Park Mexican who was signed to Warner Brothers.  She soon became a local celebrity as she was receiving weekly plays on the radio.  She went on a 32 city tour with Cash Money (Baller Blocking Tour) in their marketing department to learn how to market herself.   She has won a pageant in Jamaica and crowned “Jamaica Grande Queen in 2004.  After winning a 10,000 contest on 97.9 in Houston, she decided to relocate to California in 2007 to pursue her music career.

In December, 2011, Asia Black released her debut CD titled “Naked and Exposed” and since then she has made her mark in the music industry.  Her lead single “Hold Up” is about  a girl finding her man cheating and decides instead of crying about it she would empower herself by saying, ‘no, I don’t need you.  I’m strong without you’.  This single is edgy and packs a punch with her vocally dramatic delivery.  The beat is hot and catchy, the hooks and verses become etched in your brain and you find yourself singing this song without knowing it.  Now that’s how it’s done!

Asia Black’s music is generally melodic filled, hook filled, bouncy with a strong portrayal of issues that are important to her.  The arrangements and delivery are so spot on.  Her music is hip-hop based but definitely crosses over into pop and is loved by audiences all over.  

•   Asia Black has opened for the legendary group Bone Thugs and Harmony at the House of blues in Hollywood on April 13, 2012.  She has had bloggers put up their reviews from that show and have had overwhelmingly positive comments.  
•   “Hold Up” is currently rotating on 102.3 kjlh.  DJ Ricky Waddas was the first to rotate her single and is also getting great reviews.

Asia Black is in the middle of a Bone Thugs n’ Harmony mini tour which ends in Valley Village on June 9th.
