Technology Firm Relocates to Historic Downtown Pendleton

COMPANY CEO CITES HISTORY AS A DECIDING FACTOR

INDIANAPOLIS -- In the here today, gone tomorrow world of technology companies it is rather unexpected to find a CEO with an eye as much on the past as on the future.  But when Solutions4ebiz relocated its headquarters to downtown Pendleton, Jack Wilson clearly wanted to emphasize his dedication to history.

“I like the historical nature of the town,” says Wilson.  “I especially liked the idea of being downtown and when the opportunity to own rather than lease presented itself that really got my attention.”

Solutions4ebiz purchased the building that most recently housed Ruth’s Legacy at 128 S. Pendleton Ave early this year, renovated the interior and moved operations to the building at the end of April.  Originally constructed in 1946 as the Cottage Corner Restaurant the building has also been home to Owen’s Trading Post and is a former home of the Pendleton Times newspaper.  Today it serves as home base for the 12-year old technology firm that was founded in Wilson’s home office and returned to Pendleton in 2009.

“While I’ve been here a long time and really feel established in this community I felt that owning a little corner of downtown cemented that position further,” notes Wilson, who was born and raised in nearby Sulphur Springs, IN but has called Pendleton home for the past 28 years.  “The company culture and the ‘vibe’ among the staff are very positively influenced by our move.  And, this building easily provides us with options for our growth which is very much in our near-term future.”

Wilson links his interest in history to his interest in his family genealogy which he began researching in the late 1980s, noting he’s collected more data than he likely will ever find time to sort and record.  And while he has solid roots in his community, his wife, Chris (Crosley) has family history in Pendleton that dates back over 190 years.

“We have always strived to have our company try to stand out in our field by having live technical support and members of our staff that build connections with our client base,” says Wilson.  “Being a part of our community just seems like a natural extension of that approach and that’s why we’re so proud to be anchored in Pendleton.”
