The Demas Weekly Venture Capital and Angel Investment Index 02 July 2012

July 5, 2012 - PRLog -- Highlights from this week’s DCP Index:

•   Last week saw 97 companies receiving an aggregate investment of over $1 billion from venture capital and angel investors, equating to an average investment per company of $11.4 million.

•   31 of the companies received investments of more than $10 million, accounting in aggregate for 65% of all funding.

•   Companies at the seed funding stage received the smallest investments, with the average capital injection per company being $2.1 million, whilst companies at the Series D funding stage received the most, averaging investments of $27.5 million each.

•   Companies receiving Series B funding accounted for the largest number of investments (32%), with the second largest category being companies receiving Seed investments (28%) followed by those receiving Series A (26%).
