'Carnival of Souls' Celebrates its 50th Anniversary With Special Release on DVD

'Carnival of Souls' tells the story of Mary Henry (Candace Hilligoss), a young woman whose world is turned upside down after a tragic auto accident. As Mary attempts to put her life together again in a new town, she is haunted by a mysterious phantom who draws her closer and closer to a mysterious abandoned carnival - and further away from the grip of reality.

Released in 1962, 'Carnival of Souls' was director Herk Harvey's magnum opus and has been critically lauded for decades. Brian McKay of eFilmCritic.com calls it "a cult classic that would have subtle yet meaningful influences on the horror genre for decades to come."
