#goodjobtexas, San Antonio's rising social multimedia platform, will welcome noted performer, producer, and promoter Nikki Young as its newest host with a special live event.
Young will launch "Young & Fresh", a showcase for musical artists from age 5 to 25, as part of China Garden's First Friday Block Party, happening on Friday, July 6 at the restaurant's SouthTown location. The show's premiere broadcast (taking place from 5-7pm) will feature interviews, trivia giveaways, and performances by some of San Antonio's rising stars, including:
* Evan Materne, 11, a local actor and guitar prodigy
* Sydney Michele, 13, performing a special salute to U.S. troops
* Not So Lucky, San Antonio's very own teen-heartthrob band
* Students from the Best of Both Worlds Vocal Productions Studio
The block party will also include an egg roll eating contest, free drink giveaways, and artist and vendor booths.
"There are so many young artists in the Texas music scene who deserve a showcase," Young explains, "and so many younger listeners looking for fresh voices to support. #goodjobtexas has done a fantastic job of reaching out to the social media generation, to bring artists and fans together, and I'm looking forward to being a part of their family.”
Brandon Faucett, Director of #goodjobtexas, adds, “When I was in a band in high school, we would have loved having a show like this on the air where we could be heard. And Nikki has devoted so much of her career to supporting young artists in every genre and medium, so she was our first choice to host. She'll bring her experience, her energy, and her enthusiasm – it's going to be an exciting show!”
