Rockin’ for the Cure Benefit Concert for Breast Cancer Awareness at Gil Gallery

July 3, 2012 - PRLog -- Anitra Jay and Carolina Breast Friends present Rockin’ for the Cure a breast cancer benefit concert and Silent Auction on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 7 pm.  The concert will be held at Gil Gallery, 109 W Morehead Street in the South End area of Charlotte and tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.  Advanced tickets can be purchased at http://www.findingacure.eventbrite.com

New Orleans native, Anitra Jay, was surrounded by Jazz, Blues, and R&B as a child with Gospel at the helm of her influence.  Inspired by a range of artists from Bill Withers to Erykah Badu, her music is a down-to-earth blend of soul and poetry with modern sensibilities. She combines soul-catching melodies with real life experiences that leave you inspired and in a deeper state of mind. Both Anitra Jay and Ana Lucia Divins have teamed up with Carolina Breast Friends, a local non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness, supporting, and providing resources to local breast cancer survivors.  

“We’re always excited about the opportunity to bring awareness to our city about Breast Cancer as well as supporting the very brave and strong survivors who fight it.  If we can groove to good music while we do it, all the better,” says Angeline Webb a Board Member at Carolina Breast Friends.
